Protection Circuit Module Specifications For 16.0V LiFePO4 Battery Packs

This protection circuit is specially designed for 16.0V LiFePO4 battery packs with a 10A discharge rate. Unlike a normal PCB, it provides an equilibrium function during charging. For example, the PCM detects each cell's voltage and trims the higher voltage until it matches the other cells, helping the cells last longer. The PCM also provides the following protections:

  • Keep the 16.0V LiFePO4 battery pack from overcharging (3.90 V/cell)
  • Balance each cell at a maximum of 3.45V/cell +/-0.03V (required voltage tolerance within 0.2V for each cell)
  • Keep the 16.0V LiFePO4 battery pack from over-discharging (2.00V/cell)
  • Limit the 16.0V LiFePO4 battery pack's discharge current to below 10A.

Features:

  • Manufacture Part#: PCM-BL005S-10A
  • For 5-cell LiFePO4 battery packs with a discharge current of <10A
  • Internally trimmed charge and discharge voltage limits to balance each cell
  • Resistance =< 20 milliohms
  • Dimensions (LxWxH): 110mm (4.3") x 40mm (1.6") x 9mm (0.4")
  • Weight: 1.0 oz (28.3 grams)

Warning:

  • Please don't use the PCM for a lower-capacity or low-drain LiFePO4 pack. Make sure your LiFePO4 battery pack can handle a 10A drain current before buying.
  • To achieve balance, each cell in the battery pack must have an equal voltage within a tolerance of 0.2V.
  • You must be experienced with LiFePO4 battery packs to buy this PCM. Misusing the PCM may cause battery damage or an explosion. We are not responsible for any damage caused by the user.
